Cambodian culture has been shaped by the extraordinary artistic ability of its people. Losing a limb doesn't mean losing this ability, nor the desire to express it. At AAD, we develop our people's skills, and enable artisitic accomplishment, through providing premises, materials, resources, training, and our own culture of encouragement.
But creating beautiful works of art isn't enough.
Without you , the work will stay on the shelf at Siem Reap, and its massive potential to reach out and say something about this wonderful country will remain just that; potential. Owning and displaying one of our pieces will give you a lifetime of pleasure, not only in itself, but in knowing you validated the work of the artist who created it.
Wood Carving is an age-old Cambodian tradition, and well represented at AAD. Our woodcarvers create beautiful, intricately detailed statuettes, decorative panels, and other items, including custom carving to your specific requirements.
| o | Every statuette is as unique as its creator. Visit us in Siem Reap and choose from six types: Apsara (celestial nymph), Apsara with child, seated Buddha, Buddha head, Christ figure. (photos available soon) |
| o | Beautifully decorative panels complement any interior theme. Visit us in Siem Reap and choose from circular or square. (photos available soon) |
| o | Backscratchers: Made from recycled coconut, these backscratchers really hit the spot! |
| o | Other projects: We don't just produce decorative work - our carpenters also build desks for local schools. |
Shadow Images Another fine Cambodian tradition. Simple yet powerfully composed and colored, each image is, again, as unique as the artist who created it.
Bag and Purse Design and Manufacture Colorful and distinctively Cambodian, our textile work is both practical and stylish - the perfect example of traditional skills in a contemporary setting. From tiny keyfob purses to elegant evening clutch bags in irridescent silks and vivid cottons, there's something for every occasion.
The good you do by making even the smallest purchase is inestimable. Every single sale means so much more than revenue - it represents a validation of the artists' work, and of their worth as human beings. One day we hope to be able to sell our work from this website. In the meantime, browse our images and choose what you'll buy when you visit us in Siem Reap.
