Action - in the Field

In addition to the extensive skills training our people receive in the sphere of the arts, we also train them for a new future back on the land. We're working with ECOSARN to establish small farming enterprises in rural areas where disabled people can operate rice mills, cultivate crops, and take care of animals, regaining their independence and self esteem.
Thanks to the commitment of valued volunteers, we provide regular English language classes. The English language has a global currency, and enables our people to communicate directly with "the outside world".
The AAD Land Reclaimed Program
AAD has just been awarded 100 hectares (nearly 250 acres) of land in the richly agricultural area of Battambong. It's a sizeable, fertile plot which we plan to develop as a community for the disabled to work as an independent co-operative venture.
But there are challenges to be met.
The land has been deforested, but thousands of stumps remain in the earth, and any farmer will tell you it's no fun uprooting stumps and disposing of them, even when you have the machinery to do it. Only when the soil is clear can we begin working the land (and there may be worse problems than tree stumps). It's a massive undertaking, and we're seeking corporate sponsorship and individual donations - no matter how small - to make the dream real. You can act to help. Make a donation RIGHT NOW.
